John Quesenberry at bar with Jim Conde in
foreground. Mannequin was sent in two pieces from
the States by the girlfriend of possibly Bill
Britt. Her nightie and wig and arms came in a
separate box. Her lower torso came, with no
wrapping, addressed to him thru the APO system.
Enroute, several clever remarks had been added in black
felt tipped pens at strategic locations.

John Q. standing next to his bird of
war. Note new jungle fatigues that had to be
scrounged from other units to replace stateside
fatigues. The stateside fatigues gave you a bad
rash after 10-12 hours at the stick. During May/June 67, the 187th flew more
than 3,000 hours each month. We were neck and neck
with the 116th "Hornets" as the AHC with the
most hours logged per month in Vietnam. However,
the 116th were returning to air conditioned hooch's and a
fully developed Base Camp at the end of the day. We
were living in tents and pulling maintenance with
flashlights, and perimeter defense duties after the 196th Bde. left.
